Needlepoint Wednesday

I know- I'm a bad blogger. The past week has been crazy. I had finals and have been fighting off the worst cold of my life. Today was my first day of not having to run around so I just stayed in and started work on my summer project!

I few weeks ago when I was in Ohio visiting my grandpa, we came across a needlepoint shop. My dad has been begging me for a needlepoint belt so he went in and got a pattern made for me. I started yesterday and I have 4 out of 7 of the logos done. Here was the view for my sick day:

I think it looks pretty good for being my first needlepoint project. The background is going to take forever though. 

April Favorites

I missed doing my April Favorites yesterday. I was planning on doing it along with a makeup post today, but I have absolutely nothing productive to say about makeup at this moment. So, let's just move on to the favorites.

Makeup: This Giorgio Armani Blushing Fabric Second Skin Blush in No. 8 Hd Orange is beautiful. I bought in on impulse. It's way too expensive, but it actually is like a second skin.- It sounds weird but it works ok?

Fashion: I'm in love with these shorts from Madewell I got a couple of weeks ago. I also bought a shirt in a matching fabric and the women in the store told me I had to wear them together. We are yet to see if that outfit is going to happen. 

Craft: You know I have a thing for embroidery and sunglasses. Them being paired together is almost too much to handle! This DIY from Honestly WTF is so creative, it blows my mind.

Television: Besides my normal shows like The Mindy Project and New Girl, I have been especially obsessed with The Following. Holy god this show is AMAZING. I am waiting to watch the last episode because I don't want it to end. You definitely should not watch it if you don't like watching people die like every 5 minutes.

Summer Jewels

I'm ready to start wearing big, chunky, colorful jewelry this summer. Anthropologie and Forever 21 are my go-to jewelry finds. I also pulled some pieces from the new Honestly WTF line for Baublebar. I always look at Baublebar jewelry, but have never bought anything. This collection is pushing me over the edge though. I just might have to go for it and buy something. Those earrings? I can't even talk about it.

Yarn Bombing.

Whenever I see a picture of yarn bombing, it makes me so incredibly happy. I think it's so cool that people take the time to knit or crochet things for the enjoyment of other people. It's makes cold and hard street objects and makes them as comfortable as your grandma's sweater! What could be better?

Pretty Products

Product packaging can be a killer to my wallet. This weekend, I bought a new mascara sole based on the packaging. I walked passed the display and decided I was going to buy it without even reading what it was. To be honest, it's not very chic packaging either- it's sparkly. I decided to do a post solely on products that are the true winners at product packaging.- The brands that I should be spending my money on without a second thought.

Here are my top 3 favorite brands for pretty product packaging!

Dior. I do not own any Dior lip products for the obvious fact that they cost about $30 each, but holy god. I was in Sephora this weekend and I almost caved and bought a lip gloss. I really don't need any more lip glosses, so I didn't.

YSL. The shinny gold packaging. Do I need to say anything else? I don't think so.

Benefit. Their products are a little more affordable than Dior and YSL. Benefit is known for their amazing packaging. I recently bought a creme eye shadow from them and it came in the most adorable little box. How could you not?
